5 Rules for Staying True to YOU When Switching Up Your Style

The New Year is here! I know many of us want to freshen up our look, just make sure you stay true to YOU!

1. Create outfits that scream your name. Never buy something that does not fit your personality – it will just rot in your closet. You can find big pieces as well as small ones that create your look. Be sure to pick up a scarf, bracelet, or something small for those times when your bright-colored jacket is not quite appropriate.

2. Multiple Yous? That’s okay. Mix them together! To avoid looking like you are in a costume contest with one look, allow your different personalities to mingle. Grab that business casual black blazer and throw it with your party rockin’ metallic skinnies for a look that tells all about you.

3. Be proud of YOUR body. Buy pieces that flatter your body type. 4. Don’t be afraid of change. Your style will and should change from year to year. One thing that won’t change is the basics – perfect fitting jeans, black blazer, leggings, etc. Spend more money on these to ensure you are covered year after year. Keep an eye out for deals on the ‘all the rage items’ that are calling your name in the moment.

4. Wear your core style proudly. Do you find yourself bringing home multiple pieces of the same thing, like your perfect fitting boot cut jeans? That’s okay! If you love them, wear them again and again. Mix them with your different personalities to complete the look that is all about you.

5.  Don’t be afraid of change. Your style will and should change from year to year. One thing that won’t change is the basics – perfect fitting jeans, black blazer, leggings, etc. Spend more money on these to ensure you are covered year after year. Shop for deals on the ‘all the rage items’ that are calling your name in the moment.
